Everything you need to know about using TipSee tip tracker app effectively
TipSee Advertising Policy Explained:
Option 1 - Watch Video: Remove interstitial ads and unlock ALL PRO features by watching a short video when you first open the app.
Option 2 - Subscribe: Remove both banner and interstitial ads with any subscription plan (starting at $1/month for Wages feature).
We apologize for any inconvenience, but ads help us keep TipSee free while covering development and server costs. We welcome your feedback through the app's feedback form.
Two Methods to Track Overtime in TipSee:
Benefits: Clear separation of regular vs overtime hours, detailed reporting
Benefits: Single job entry, direct pay amount tracking
Example: If you worked 6h 52min total with 2h 18min overtime, Method 1 shows two separate calendar entries, while Method 2 shows one job entry with additional overtime pay tracked.
We highly recommend using a dedicated app lock application like AppLock to secure TipSee and other sensitive apps on your device.
App security specialists focus entirely on protection features, making them more reliable than built-in app locks. This ensures your sensitive tip and income data stays private.
3.50 hours = 3 hours and 30 minutes (3:30)
The decimal system means .5 = half of 60 minutes = 30 minutes
0.25 = 15 minutes
0.50 = 30 minutes
0.75 = 45 minutes
4.25 = 4h 15m
6.75 = 6h 45m
8.50 = 8h 30m
For accuracy, we recommend entering hours and minutes separately in the app rather than using decimal format.
If you work multiple shifts and enter 3.5 hours twice, TipSee automatically totals to 7 hours for that day on your calendar and reports.
Two Ways to Track Bi-Weekly Wages in TipSee:
Best for: Hourly employees who want automated wage calculations
Best for: Employees with varying wage amounts or salary workers
We highly recommend sending yourself a backup file weekly to protect against phone loss, theft, or failure.
TipSee supports syncing between multiple devices, perfect for users who switch between phone and tablet for tip tracking.
Multiple Ways to View Tip Income Totals in TipSee:
Tap any summary block title for detailed breakdowns
1. Weekly Income (OPTIONS menu): Dedicated weekly income tracking and analysis
2. Tip_Report: Comprehensive reporting with customizable date ranges and detailed breakdowns
3. Summary Page Blocks: Quick-access dashboard with interactive period selection
Each summary block shows total wages and total hours worked for the selected period, giving you complete income visibility including hourly performance metrics.
Properly handling wage changes ensures accurate historical data and correct future calculations.
Go to the "About Us" page in the main menu to see your current TipSee app version number.
TipSee subscriptions must be cancelled through the platform where you originally purchased (Apple App Store or Google Play Store), not within the TipSee app itself.
Some employers may over-report your income from wages and tips. Accurate records help you verify reported income and catch discrepancies.
Many TipSee users are proud of their earnings! For Android users, we offer a TipSee Widget for your home screen to display weekly, monthly, and yearly tip totals.
While some users prioritize privacy, maintaining accurate tip records provides crucial financial protection and empowerment in the service industry.
Perfect for servers, bartenders, and delivery drivers working multiple shifts or breaks throughout the day.
If the daily total looks incorrect, you can manually adjust it on the Add/Edit page to ensure accuracy.
TipSee shows two important numbers on your calendar to give you complete daily income visibility.
Example: $85 tips (worked 6 hours = $14.17/hr)
Example: $85 tips + $60 wages = $145 total
Your Setup: $10/hour in "Wage and Job Setup"
Hours Worked: 6 hours that day
Tips Earned: $85
Calculated Wages: 6 hours × $10 = $60
Calendar Display:
• Top number: $85 tips ($14.17/hr tip rate)
• Bottom number: $145 total income ($85 tips + $60 wages)
If you only see one number, you haven't set up "Wage and Job Setup" yet. This is optional but recommended for complete income tracking, especially for tipped employees receiving hourly wages.
